A family-run company with a documented system for building without surprises.
J&J Construction is a Prince Rupert-based construction company established in 1978. We’re known for craftsmanship—and we’re just as known for how we run the work: clear scope, structured communication, and professional project management.
This page is your starting point to learn who we are, how we work, and what to expect.
ClearScope Construction: a documented process built to eliminate surprises
ClearScope isn’t a slogan—it’s how we run projects.
We start by understanding what you’re trying to accomplish and why it matters to you. Then we document the scope, plan the work before mobilizing, and keep communication structured so you always know what’s completed, what’s next, and what decisions are required.
The ClearScope Construction System (6 Steps)
01
Vision + Finish Alignment
- We confirm your goals, priorities, finish level, and constraints so the plan matches your vision.
02
ClearScope Proposal
- You receive a documented scope with allowances, exclusions, and assumptions—so expectations are clear from day one.
03
Pre-Build Planning
- We map the schedule, materials, site logistics, and milestone checkpoints before work begins.
04
Execution to Premium Standards
- We coordinate trades, protect your space, and deliver high-end finish work with professional oversight.
05
Communication Standard
- Active phases: daily logs and progress photos
- Non-active phases: planned milestone updates (permits, materials, inspections, scheduling)
06
Phase Budget Tracking + Closeout
- We track budget by phase, manage changes clearly, and close out with a walkthrough, punch list, and clean handoff.
Change management
When scope changes, we communicate the impact on budget and schedule before proceeding—so you stay in control.
A Prince Rupert construction company Since 1978 — with big plans for what’s next
J&J Construction was established and incorporated in 1978 in Prince Rupert, BC. The name started with two men named Jim—“Jim and Jim”—and the company grew through decades of steady work, word of mouth, and a reputation built on showing up and doing things properly.
In the late 80s, J&J was operated by Jim Greer and Clint Logan. Over time, it remained family-owned and expanded its capabilities across residential and commercial work.
Today, J&J is led by Hunter Logan (Clint’s son). We’re proud of our history—and we’ve modernized how we deliver projects. Hunter has built systems and tools that make the customer journey clearer and less stressful: expectations set upfront, structured communication, daily visibility during active phases, and phase-by-phase budget tracking.
Where we work
We serve Prince Rupert, Port Edward, Metlakatla, Lax Kw’alaams, Terrace, and Kitimat, with reach across Northern BC—including as far as Prince George and south toward Williams Lake.
Where we’re headed
Next chapter: Our BC builder licence is in the final stages. As we complete this step, we’ll be expanding into new home builds and multi-unit projects. We’re building a full pre-construction system that includes 2D and 3D visual concepts, a design-led planning approach, and real-world pricing so clients can make confident decisions before construction begins.
Meet Hunter Logan
Hunter Logan leads J&J Construction as a second-generation builder in the Logan family. He grew up around the work and now focuses on raising the standard of what clients experience during construction—not just the final result.
Hunter’s priority is simple: make construction easier to navigate. That’s why J&J runs on ClearScope—a documented system for scope clarity, schedule discipline, and proactive communication.
If you’re the kind of client who values a clear plan, honest expectations, and a contractor who stays accountable throughout the job, you’ll feel at home working with our team.
